Directions

The Circular Economy is not just a concept but a transformative force that will reshape our professional disciplines, existing conventions, and best practices. Implementing it will span multiple time horizons: short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term, requiring intensive collaboration within industry subsectors.

The principles of the Circular Economy apply to the industrial sector (factories and supply chains), the service economy, everyday civic life, and government; there are no exemptions. The circular economy radically differs from our current linear economy and can be initially confusing, so we created this webinar.

Discussion Outline:

  • How the situation requiring the Circular Economy evolved
  • The Circular Economy mantra
  • Another key driver – raw material availability
  • The new product lifecycle design – extending & retaining value
  • Sector and subsector collaboration
  • Material & labor $ value-add swap?
  • GDP changes?
  • Next steps
